about us
We did not start this to become a brand.
We started because the road kept giving us stories that felt too honest to leave undocumented. This project is our way of paying attention before the moment is gone.
Because the best parts of travel are often the unplanned ones.
The Long Way Hungry is a storytelling project about movement, people, weather, doubt, small rituals, and the strange calm that appears when plans fall apart.
We care less about perfect itineraries and more about what happens between destinations: missed turns, roadside meals, conversations that change the mood of an entire day.
Two voices, one road, very different instincts.
Risto Vauras
Usually behind the camera. Often notices quiet details first.
Risto has a calm eye and a patient way of working. While others chase highlights, he stays with the in-between moments.
Matti Ikäläinen
Often testing routes and writing notes at the end of the day.
Matti keeps the story grounded in lived experience, turning route choices into human stories from inside the ride.
This page is only the introduction.
If this feels like your kind of pace, continue into the stories, technical notes, and ride journals.
